First Broilers of the Year Arrive - with a little help from Benny Hill

On Monday the 15th we received our first broiler chicks of the year! We are raising 300 roosters to 6 weeks instead of 8 so that they will be a bit smaller and ready for the first farmers' markets of the year.

I think we may have produced the finest video of this blog's storied history - credit goes to professional cameraman, editor, and part-time YouTube personality Corwin Neuse.



We converted one of the old coops into a brooder, here is what it looked like before we set it up.
